Climate Revolutionary Movement: Strike to get action against severe Climate Change

India have successfully managed to conduct a strike with a
group of students, together with the members of the Climate Revolutionary Movement on 20/09/2019, at the Durbar Hall ground, Ernakulam. As a part of the #fridayforfuture movement, to enhance the awareness of the immediate need of taking action against the severe climate change. Programs started off at 9 am with petition signing ceremony, where nearly 200 people signed the petition stating the same.
A warm welcome speech was delivered by Joanne Maria Biju and was followed by the speeches of prof. MK Sanoo, Mr. Jayakumar sir and CR Neelakandan, an environmental activist. As time closed to 12, the whole stage program concluded with Abhirami Manohar, the Indian ambassador of the Climate Revolutionary group, thanking each and every supporters of the initiative.
Rally
Rally starting from Durbar hall ground, passing through Law College, Maharajas College and concluding at its very initial point was also organized by the conductors. A huge crowd which included school students, college students, their parents and many more, with different pluck cards in their hands with the writings to save Western Ghats, to save planet, to fight against global warming etc. altogether made the rally a grant success.

“It all went great though we were totally tired. We all did our best to make people aware of the current ongoing scenario of climate change around the world. I consider this our first success. Many, even if they wished to, couldn’t participate in today’s program. We’ll make sure to invite them all again in our next program and we sure do hope they all get the chance to come by to give us more of support and strength to move on with this motive” says Surabhi, a member of Climate Revolutionary, India and a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, kadavanthra.
“We are also demanding action against climate change, ban on single use plastics and a zero waste system” said Abhirami Manohar and Mahitha Meenakshi, who are also the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya. Manohar gives mother the complete credit of drawing her attention into the issues of climate change and also mentions Greta Thunberg to be a great influence for her.
Epic Center of Climate Strike : Greta Thunberg
Greta Thunberg is the epic center or the beginning of all this climate strikes& climate revolutionary movements. Greta Thunberg is a Swedish Environmental activist who is credited for raising global awareness of the risk posed by climate changes. She has inspired millions around the world into getting down to streets and acting to save the planet from severe climate changes. At the very beginning Greta started all alone, holding up a sign calling for stronger climate action, outside the Swedish parliament. She was soon joined by other students and together they started school climate strike movements, calling them #Fridayforfuture.

In May 2019, she was featured in the cover of Times magazines, which named her “the next generation leader”, and she is also noted to be the role model of millions around the globe. Climate strike in Kochi, on 20th has set a beginning to the chain of strikes which have been planned in different parts of Kerala, till 27th.
